Meet the Brothers
Barry and Geoff were born in 2022, making them young, sprightly, and forever hungry. They are Kune Kune pigs, a breed originally from New Zealand, known for their friendly nature, round bellies, and an unshakable passion for food. (Honestly, they’d enter an eating competition if we let them!)
Geoff, the ginger pig, is the brains of the operation. Always the first to the food bowl, he has a sixth sense for when a snack might be available. He also fancies himself a bit of an escape artist, though, let’s be honest, he’s not very fast—so he rarely makes it past the first fence before being lured back with a carrot.
Barry, the black pig, is the laid-back, easy going brother. While Geoff is plotting his next meal, Barry is more likely to be found basking in the sun, enjoying a leisurely nap, and contemplating the deeper meaning of life (or just where the next belly rub is coming from). He’s also been known to snore, which adds to his overall charm.
Life at Log Cabin Holidays
Barry and Geoff are more than just pigs; they are the welcoming committee, the local comedians, and the unofficial quality control officers for anything edible. They love meeting guests, especially those willing to offer a gentle scratch behind the ears (but be warned, once you start, they may never let you stop!).
Their daily routine consists of breakfast (their favorite meal), a mid-morning snooze, some casual wandering, lunch (their other favorite meal), afternoon lounging, dinner (yet another favorite meal), and finally, a well-earned rest. It’s a tough life, but someone has to do it.
Fun Facts About Kune Kune Pigs
-
The name "Kune Kune" means "fat and round" in Māori, which is rather fitting!
-
Unlike some other pigs, Kune Kunes don’t root up the ground too much, making them excellent lawnmowers (though slightly inefficient ones, as they take a lot of snack breaks).
-
They are incredibly social and love human interaction—so don’t be surprised if Barry and Geoff come trotting over to say hello!
How to Be Barry & Geoff’s Best Friend
-
Talk to them – They might not understand every word, but they’ll certainly appreciate the effort.
-
Offer a gentle scratch – Behind the ears or on their belly is a surefire way to win them over.
-
Watch them eat – It’s an experience in itself, trust us.
-
Take a picture – But be warned, Geoff might be napping, and Barry might be mid-snack.
